There seems to be a required force by a firing pin to set off some primers. I have only researched online and have no experience with springs that were to light to set of certain military primers. The trigger was not popular online and had received some negative comments although nobody talking trash about it actually had one, they were just complaining about the price but the kit I got knocked it down a bit.
The trigger has some extra components such as some springs that can be used to change the pull weight. Nothing changes in the force of the hammer though which is why I bought it. It is low weight and breaks like glass and its my favorite so far.
I also have the Jard non adjustable at about 2 lbs and I really like that one too but not as much as the Hypertouch as its a bit crisper.
I have 8 rifles with aftermarket triggers and a few Timney's that I like as well. My next trigger will probably be the Jard adjustable. I like the single stage type. I will let you know in a few days. I have the JP fire control system in my 6. From what JP claims I should get 4. I think it will be worth 10 bucks just to try it out and see. Sponsored Links Remove Advertisements. The yellow trigger spring mainly affects trigger pull, the hammer spring affects the force on the primer.
Was not pleased with the ALG did have a clean pull tho. That was my only experience with the ALG. My fav trigger is the Wilson single stage have 2. Not going to argue about it but I am going to disagree. In the instructions for the JP fire control system they tell you that if you use the red tactical hammer spring the pull will be 3. It may not have as much effect as the trigger spring but it obviously has some effect.
In order to release the hammer, the trigger has to overcome the force that the hammer spring is applying against the sear, the more force from a stronger hammer spring the more force that has to be overcome.
If you don't believe me, just shotgun your AR, take your finger and apply a little upward force to the hammer to simulate a stronger spring and see how hard it is to pull the trigger. Last edited by Woodstock; at AM. I finally got my new lower today. Had the trigger and springs for a while now. I tested the stock trigger that came on the SAA complete lower and the trigger broke at 5lb 14 oz.

Mix and match different triggers works as well. Meticulous triggers built by our staff toolmakers Everyone knows that one of the smartest improvements an AR-owner can do to their rifle is a precision trigger upgrade. Everyone also knows that LaRue Tactical has a track-record of doing things right.
The LaRue MBT-2S was purposefully designed and manufactured to render the greatest benefits from our legendary line of accurate rifles. Sparing no expense, all major components are precision-machined from S7 Tool Steel.
The result of this extra effort is a glass-smooth, hyper-consistent trigger that will satisfy even the most scrupulous competition shooter, but also be overly rugged for the battlefield. The MBT-2S breaks crisply at 4. Each trigger comes with an additional "heavy" trigger spring that increases the pull weight to 6 lbs. LaRue is known world-wide for sniper targets, quick-detachable mounting solutions and hyper-accurate 7.
Made in-house, in Texas, in the USA. The options you chose might be on backorder. Sorry, the chosen combinations are out of stock. Quantity Only. Description Reviews Outstanding trigger! Feels real good. Breaks well. I bought this trigger to replace a stock trigger in my DDM4. Great rifle, horrible trigger. The stock trigger crept and scraped until it finally broke.
The new LaRue trigger not only did not creep, but now gives me a crisp, pretzel-like break I was wanting. Thank You. Average Customer Rating: 4. Login to rate this review. This is my all time favorite trigger for the AR It is light enough to be a joy to shoot, heavy enough to be safe for a duty weapon, heavy duty enough to out-last my lifetime, and affordable enough that I have no excuse to put a lesser trigger in any of my rifles.
Also note, that each stage is the "right" weight. I've tried some other "big name" two stage triggers, and the second stage on most of them is too light for a duty weapon, and would lead to accidental discharges under stress. So all things considered, I have many good things to say about the MBT2, and I have 0 bad things to say about it. Buy one. Buy two. Please email us at techsales opticsplanet. I read good things about this trigger and I wanted it to be as good as the reviews, but that wasn't the case for me. After I installed the trigger I went out to the range to test it and that's when I ran into a problem. After each shot, the trigger wouldn't reset.
I had to manually prompt it forward to reset it after every shot. I tried a couple other mil spec trigger springs, but nothing seemed to fix the problem. Minus the functioning part. Great trigger! Next to no creep and nice and smooth! This is all the trigger I need in a modern sporting rifle! If your looking for a better than GI standard trigger you found it. Smooth clean break and reset is nice too. For sure will be ordering another one once they are back in stock!!!!
The military really ought to improve its trigger standards, because this handily beats the stock one in my Palmetto State Armory AR There's no grit, no overtravel, just one graceful pull followed by a bang.
It is absolutely worth the 70 dollars. Great trigger. The ACT ALG Combat Trigger adds nickel-boron coating on the trigger and nickel-Teflon coating on the hammer, disconnnector, and pins to increase surface hardness and reduce friction, with an average pull weight of about 6 lbs.
Disconnnector — high-carbon steel. Both kits contain trigger, trigger spring, hammer, 2 hammer springs, disconnnector, disconnnector spring, hammer and trigger pins, and instructions.? What a good pedigree to have. My best trigger was a surprisingly good trigger that came with a Rock River Arms parts kit. I say surprisingly because we all know that parts kits come with triggers that are very hit or miss. Mostly they miss. Grittiness,a long take up, heavy and inconsistent pull weight. It had perceptible creep and a small wall that you could feel right in the middle of the trigger stroke. While they may share features, the ultimate proof is in the trigger pull.
Pulling the trigger on the ACT feels like pulling the trigger on a ball bearing. No grit, much less creep, and smooth take up all the way to the hammer drop. Reading measurements others have taken online, it seems to hover around lbs on average in pull weight.
It feels like getting punched in the face. Focus on the front sight, crystal clear I have a variety of tools I have accumulated over the years. I keep an ACT around as a backup trigger. The ACT is certainly nice for a standard trigger, but it is still worlds different from the other G triggers. In any case, great pick on the ACT. I would love a higher end product, but shooting a rough around the edges rifle with basic gear is fun too.
I know this is an old thread but here goes.
alg trigger with jp springs
I decided to try the ALG since it was only Its consistant, smooth as buttermilk and breaks like glass. The G2S is a 4. Visually, from the outside of the weapon there is no difference from the SSA and the feel and reliability is the same. The G2S however has a different way of holding the hammer pin in place, there is no laser markings, and the parts are only spot checked for MP.
Took me 2 months after the deal of the day arrived to figure out what I needed to put the ar together to go boom. I was a little pushed for cash when I ordered my LPK and I elected to settle for the standard alg trigger as part of the package. My son-in-law who was trained as an MP with the Issue Mi6 was amazed by the trigger pull.
That is what cold spring nights are for….
